The Spatial Data Services (SDS) component of the VisTracks platform encompasses several core technologies that are commonly integrated into client applications. Solution developers, for example, can access the VisTracks proprietary mapping engine to generate imagery for a custom data set. Alternatively, they may use the APIs exposed by the navigation engine to translate street addresses into global coordinates (geocoding) or determine an optimal path between two locations given a set of constraints (dynamic route calculation).

SDS also establishes the geometric framework underlying the VisTracks system. It provides the basis for a variety of spatial queries, such as determining all assets that are presently within a given distance from a target location.

The VisTracks Spatial Data Services Engine is open, and uniquely integrates standard and non-standard geospatial data into a usable data set for specialized applications.

With VisTracks Spatial Data Services Engine, you can:

  • Created integrated sets of highly customized map (road network) and spatial imagery.
  • Optimize and manage constraint-based routing between locations.
  • Support import and export of standard spatial data formats.
  • Underlay road network with specialized imagery.
  • Dynamically (re)route in real time to avoid real-time events, congestion and trouble spots.
  • Integrate valuable spatial information locally in situ decision processes.
  • Create heat maps from spatial data correlated to demographic or other data.
  • (Re)route emergency or other service personnel to avoid road closures.
  • Target marketing campaigns based on understanding of store location, nearby demographics, and customer travel and purchase patterns.
